What is the Bible?  What does the Bible say?  What does the Bible mean by what it says?  How are we to understand it?  These are the kinds of questions that the course asks.

All too often God’s people can have conflicting views of truth all based on the same Bible.  We can, in all sincerity, fail to understand the true meaning of a Bible text.  And even if we do understand it, we can unintentionally misapply it.

The Bible and Biblical Interpretation examines the background, offers practical steps for reading and studying the text, and gives principles for sound and accurate understanding and application of Bible truth.  If you’re serious about God’s Word, then this module is for you.

What will the Course consist of?

The Course will be taught in lecture style in six two-hour sessions. Each session will be in two parts around a short break. The sessions will initially be taught live over Zoom and will include the opportunity for questions and answers. Subsequently, the sessions will be available as videos for on-demand or catch-up purposes. In that case, questions and answers will be covered by an email link to a course tutor.

The six sessions will overview the Bible in terms of its content and background, give practical tips for reading and study, introduce basic principles of interpretation, and offer some guidelines.

In addition, there will be a Study Guide booklet, consisting of lecture outlines, notes, tools, and charts. Although it will be possible to download and print the Study Guide, it runs to forty-two pages, and most people will find it much more convenient to purchase this online for home delivery prior to the start of the Course. It is available at cost price from the following link:

There is no test for this course, but after the sessions have been completed, a certificate of completion for the Course will be available.
