Course Details

Bible Doctrines 1 will begin on Thursday September 18th 2025, and will be taught on most Thursday evenings until November 27th, ten sessions in all. The sessions will run on Zoom from 7:30 to 9:30 pm each evening.

What is Bible Doctrine?  We may read the Bible and hear it preached, but what does it actually teach?  How do we put it all together?

We may try to get to grips with doctrine, but we can easily be put off by big words and abstract concepts.  And yet unless we do get to grips with what the Bible teaches, we will have misconceptions and false assumptions, and make all the usual mistakes, rather than living in the confidence, clarity and liberty that result from the truth.

Taken together, Bible Doctrines 1 and 2 give an overview of the major doctrines of the Bible, seeking, without diluting, to make the words and concepts of theology “user-friendly”.  Bible Doctrines 1 covers the first six sections, and Bible Doctrines 2 covers the second six. If you want to grow in knowledge, understanding and clarity, then this pair of modules is for you.

What does the Course consist of?

The Course is taught in lecture style in ten two-hour sessions. Each session is in two parts around a short break. Together with a Bible, the Study Guide booklet should be to hand both for reference and for taking extra notes during the course sessions.

The sessions will initially be taught live over Zoom and will include the opportunity for questions and answers. Subsequently, the sessions will be available as videos for on-demand or catch-up purposes. In that case, questions and answers will be covered by an email link to a course tutor.

In addition, there is a combined Study Guide booklet, consisting of lecture outlines, notes, and questions, which covers Bible Doctrines 1 and 2. Although it will be possible having registered to download and print the Study Guide, it runs to 126 pages, and most people will find it much more convenient to purchase this online for home delivery prior to the start of the Course. It is available at cost price from the following link:

After the sessions have been completed, there will be the opportunity to take an online test based mainly on the Study Guide Questions. A successful score will result in a certificate for the Course.
