Joel Virgo
Joel Virgo is a seasoned church leader, communicator, and church planter with over two decades of experience in Christian ministry. He is married to Katie, and together they are raising five children. Joel was up until recently lead pastor of Emmanuel Church in Brighton, a thriving church with multiple congregations, known for its gospel clarity and strong commitment to mission.
Over the years, Joel has played a key role in establishing churches not only across the UK but also in several major cities around the world. His passion for raising up leaders and planting gospel-centred communities has made him a recognised voice in church networks internationally.
Joel was also instrumental in launching Newday, one of the UK’s largest Christian youth festivals, which he led for many years. Under his leadership, Newday became a catalytic space for thousands of young people to encounter Jesus and be equipped for discipleship and mission.
Known for his engaging preaching and deep theological insight, Joel speaks regularly at conferences and events. He continues to invest in the next generation of leaders through mentoring, teaching, and church-based training.
